Configuring Outlook 2000
  • The main details for your e-mail setup are as follows:
E-mail Address This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
User Name yourusername
Incoming mail server (POP3) mail.itb.net.au
Outgoing mail server (SMTP) mail.itb.net.au

Step-by-step guide

Step 1

Open Microsoft Outlook 2000
Note: If it is the first time you have loaded Outlook 2000, you may be presented with a wizard to setup your email. If so, skip to Step 4.

Step 2

Click on Tools in the menu bar, the click on Accounts

Step 3

Click on the Add button, then click on Mail...

Step 4

In the Display name: field, type in your full name, then click Next

Step 5

In the E-mail address: field, type your IT Basecamp username or mail account with the suffix of '@yourdomain.com.au'. ie. This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it Then click Next

Step 6

  • Select POP3 for My incoming mail server is a menu item
  • In the Incoming mail (POP3) or (IMAP) server: field, type mail.itb.net.au
  • In the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server: field, type mail.itb.net.au, then click Next

Step 7

  • In the Account name: field, type in your IT Basecamp username or mail account name
  • In the Password: field, type in the corresponding password for the above username, then click Next

Step 8

For ADSL customers, click on Connect using my local area network (LAN), then click Next
For Dialup customers, click on Connect using my phone line, then click Next

Step 9

Click on the Finish button to complete the setup process

Step 10

To send and receive emails, simply click on the Send/Receive button.

Congratulations Microsoft Outlook 2000 is now configured for use.
