Configuring Outlook 2003
  • The main details for your e-mail setup are as follows:
E-mail Address This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
User Name This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
Incoming mail server (POP3) mail.itb.net.au
Outgoing mail server (SMTP) mail.itb.net.au or your.isp.mail.host

Step-by-step guide

Step 1

Open Microsoft Outlook 2003
Note: If it is the first time you have loaded Outlook 2003, you may be presented with a wizard to setup your email. If so, skip to Step 4.

Step 2

Click on Tools in the menu bar, the click on Email Accounts

Step 3

Select radio button Add a new e-mail account, then click Next

Step 4

Select radio button POP3

Step 5

  • In the Your Name: field, type in your full name
  • In the E-mail Address: field, type your IT Basecamp username or mail account with the suffix of '@yourdomain.com.au'. ie. This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
  • In the Incoming mail server (POP3): and Outgoing mail server (SMTP): field, type mail.itb.net.au
  • In the User Name field, type in your IT Basecamp username or mail account name
  • In the Password: field, type in the corresponding password for the above username
  • Click MORE SETTINGS click the ADVANCED tab and ensure that the second box is ticked and outgoing server is set to 25 as shown below
  • Once completed, click Next

Step 10

Click on the Finish button

Step 11

To send and receive emails, simply click on the Send/Receive button.

Congratulations Microsoft Outlook 2003 is now configured for use.
